Back in June, Carrey pulled out of promoting the sequel because he thought the finished movie was too violent. From pop, to electro, to rap, the soundtrack has something for everyone. Mark Millar, the creator of the ‘Kick-Ass’ series, reckons Jim Carrey’s press boycott of ‘Kick-Ass 2’ is worth 30 million in press coverage - more than the film’s 28 million production budget. The Kick-Ass 2 soundtrack has one of the most eclectic collections of songs you will find. If you are not familiar with The Go Team!, they have a nice track called “Bust Out Brigade” which takes their mix of marching band and cheer squad sound with a cool mix for Kick-Ass 2. Glazvegas’ “Euphoria, Take My Hand” has to be one of the most beautiful songs from the soundtrack. After Kick-Ass’ (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) insane bravery inspires a new wave of self-made masked crusaders, led by the badass Colonel Stars and Stripes (Jim Carrey), our hero joins them on patrol. There are also some anthems like Union J’s “Carry You” and Jessie J’s “Hero” that will have your toes tapping to the beat and your soul energized. Kick-Ass, Hit Girl and Red Mist return for the follow-up to 2010’s irreverent global hit: Kick-Ass 2. The songs are like a pep rally for one giant orgy of mayhem, and I love it.
